It takes a lot of support in many different forms to enable Foodbank to distribute enough food for 107,000 meals a day. One partner committed to playing its part is Wiley, leading food manufacturing engineering and construction services provider to the Australian food industry.
Each year two million Australians, or 1 in 10, seek food assistance – around half of them children – and the number is growing at an alarming rate. It is no longer just the homeless and unemployed but increasingly the elderly, single parents and the working poor who are struggling to afford life’s basics.
In spite of this, awareness amongst the general public of the problem is still extremely low so to get the message out Foodbank releases an annual survey on World Food Day providing a snapshot of the size and scope of the issue.
In 2014 Wiley agreed to assist with this important project by providing professional resources in both the preparation and promotion of the report. This extends from production and design services to advice on how to make the most of social media channels to spread the word.
