Volunteers are our vital ingredient
We need you to help fight hunger throughout the state!
Each day, we rely on individual volunteers and corporate groups to help us tackle the growing issue of hunger here in Western Australia. As demand for food relief continues to grow, volunteers remain vital to our success.
There are a variety of volunteering opportunities at Foodbank WA including:
- Warehouse volunteers – we rely on individual and corporate volunteers to help us sort groceries, pack hampers and pick orders to ensure our charity partners receive the food supplies they need. The warehouse can take up to 12 volunteers and operates.
- Community Kitchen volunteers – small teams of up to 6 people work alongside our fully qualified chef each day in our Community Kitchen to prepare, cook or pack frozen meals. With our full contingent of volunteers we can distribute up to 2,000 meals per week. Check out our latest video
- Event and fundraising volunteers – from time to time we call on volunteers to assist us with our fundraising and food raising events. You can help us tin rattle, host a community food drive or engage local community members in our cause.
- Skilled volunteers – there may also be opportunities to help out with our day-to-day office activities and special projects, especially in skilled areas such as fundraising, food donor relations, marketing, IT systems, administration, and program delivery.
You might prefer to volunteer with us on a one-off basis or join our growing team of regular volunteers who donate 1-3 days a week/month of their time.
Despite the serious need that we are addressing in the community, volunteering will be a fun and rewarding experience for you and your team.
